The Quilts

Internationally-recognized fabric designer and author Jinny Beyer has compiled a series of 12 Mariner’s Compass blocks specifically for the Quilters’ Quest.  You can obtain one free pattern at each shop that you visit. One block fabric kit is free with a purchase exceeding $30. The kit may also be purchased for $5. Limit of one free, and one purchased kit per customer. Each shop has created its own setting for the 12 blocks, and in some cases finishing kits for that setting are available from the shop that created it.

The Prizes

This year, the prizes are furnishings for the ultimate quilt studio.  Imagine winning The Grand Prize Quilters' Dream Cabinet valued at over $1800 filled with luxurious accessories!  In addition, 1st and 2nd prizes are great storage cabinets a caddies all filled with goodies! In order to be entered in the drawing for the Grand Prizes, you must have visited all 12 quilt shops. Visiting at least 8 shops qualifies you for the Scavenger Hunt and Shop Drawings.

The Scavenger Hunt

Each shop on the route will have a hidden “mascot” which can be found somewhere in the shop. Locate the object, then bring the "Found It" tag to staff to get your passport stamped. If you collect 8 "Found It" stamps you are eligible for more great prizes!  Look sharp! The mascot will be on the move.

Individual Shop Prizes

Each shop has its own way of celebrating the quest.  Some have daily drawings for small prizes; others feature one gift for the entire quest event.

Special Exclusive 2009 Quest Fabric

Timeless Treasures has printed a special batik for our quest called “Washington Monuments!”  See the creative projects made from the fabric at each shop.  Some projects have been kitted for your convenience.

Buses

Patches and Quilt Patch are sponsoring bus travel to each of the quest shops.  Call them for further information.

Refreshments

Many of the shops will be offering light refreshments during the quest.  Some will even provide recipes for their favorite featured treats!
